OSAP Executive Director Announces Retirement
The Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) has announced the retirement of Executive Director Therese Long, MBA, CAE, effective June 30. Long, who has held the role for more than two decades, will continue to serve as emeritus executive director and advocate for the safe and infection-free delivery of oral health care.
Long has served as the international face of OSAP, and through her advocacy it has developed into a respected organization dedicated to advancing safe oral health care. Under her guidance, it obtained IRS recognition, launched the OSAP Foundation, created innovative and effective programs and campaigns, and formed valuable partnerships that expanded the organization’s reach. Long was awarded the Dr. James J. Crawford Award in 2015 in honor of her years of service as executive director.
OSAP’s Senior Association Manager Christina Thomas MS, CAE, has been named OSAP’s new executive director, effective July 1. Joining OSAP in 2016, Thomas has more than 10 years of experience working in the association and membership field.
