Fall for Smiles Campaign Under Way


Offering a wealth of information, the web portal for Oral Health America’s Fall for Smiles campaign is ablaze with ideas that sales pros and practitioners can use to spread the word to patients and the local community about the importance of oral health. Available at oralhealthamerica.org, the resources include a social media guide, as well as downloadable materials ranging from a Fall for Smiles Kid’s Activity Book to a brushing chart that reminds children and caregivers to brush twice a day for two minutes.

The annual campaign, which runs through October, promotes the value of good self-care habits and regular dental visits, and raises awareness about the dangers of tobacco use. It also offers salespeople a great opportunity to strategize with clients about how they can participate to not only build awareness about oral health, but also help market their practices in a fun and positive way.

Possible outreach efforts might include providing pro-bono care for a day, volunteering at an elementary school or nursing home to provide oral health education, sponsoring a brush-a-thon or smile-a-thon, and hosting a candy drive aimed at trading Halloween candy for healthier options.
