William Giannobile Named Harvard Dental School Dean
William V. Giannobile, DDS, MS, DMSc, a renowned scholar in oral regenerative medicine, has been named dean of Harvard School of Dental Medicine
William V. Giannobile, DDS, MS, DMSc, a renowned scholar in oral regenerative medicine, has been named dean of Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM). Giannobile, an HSDM alumnus, will succeed interim dean Vicki Rosen on September 1.
Giannobile is the Najjar Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, and a professor of biomedical engineering in the university’s College of Engineering.
He is a recipient of the 2003 Henry Russel Jr. Faculty Award for Excellence in Research and Teaching from the University of Michigan, and the Distinguished Scientist Award from the Academy of Periodontology. Giannobile also serves as the co-principal investigator of the NIH-funded Michigan-Pittsburgh-Wyss Regenerative Medicine Resource Center.
