A new study published in JAMA Internal Medical suggests regular consumption of soda is associated with a higher risk of death. Researchers conducted a data analysis from February 2018 to October 2018 of 451,743 participants in the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition, a multinational cohort of people from 10 European countries, collected between 1992 to 2000.
Of the 41,693 deaths that occurred, higher all-cause mortality was found among those who consumer two or more glasses per day or total soft drinks, sugar-sweetened soft drinks, and artificially sweetened soft drinks.
