Wisconsin Brings Out Packers’ Favorite to Encourage Oral Health
Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer Donald Driver is teaming up with Network Health on the “From Teeth to Toes” campaign to promote better oral health habits among Wisconsin families.
While Wisconsin residents have some of the best oral health in the country, blind spots remain, especially in accessing care in rural areas, high levels of dental caries in low-income areas, and a lack of diversity in the dental workforce. Most troubling is the fact that children are experiencing high levels of decay with three out of five kids in third grade developing a carious lesion and one in five living with undiagnosed caries.
In a state known for its voracious love of football, who do you suppose would be a great spokesperson to help improve kids’ oral health? Donald Driver, the Green Bay Packers’ leading receiver and Hall of Fame member, of course. Known for his bright smile, Driver is partnering with Network Health to educate Wisconsinites about the importance of oral health, not only for a beautiful smile but also to maintain systemic health.
Launched this month, the “From Teeth to Toes” campaign encourages residents to take the “Healthy Habits Pledge,” which encompasses brushing for 2 minutes daily, flossing once per day, and visiting an oral healthcare provider regularly. Click here to read more.
