Prosthodontics Researcher Receives ACP’s Clinician/Research Award
John A. Sorensen, DMD, PhD, FACP, director of the Biomimetics Biomaterials Biophotonics Biomechanics and Technology Laboratory, and director of research for the graduate prosthodontics program at the University of Washington, was honored with the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) 2018 Clinician/Research Award. The award recognizes Sorenson’s outstanding contributions to academic dentistry, prosthodontics and the sciences.
Over the course of three decades, Sorensen has received nearly $1.1 million in corporate-sponsored research, conducted numerous laboratory research projects, and published more than 90 academic works. He is also the founder of the Pacific Dental Institute in Portland, Oregon, a fellow of the ACP, and a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
