EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
After reading this course, the participant should be able to:
- Describe substance use and addictions affecting dental personnel, and factors that contribute to the development of substance use disorders (SUDs).
- Explain triggers and potential consequences associated with SUDs among dentists, including burnout and suicide.
- Discuss preventive efforts, treatment approaches, and resources available to dentists who develop SUDs.
