Home Healing Kit for Orofacial Pain
Orofacial Therapeutics (800-670-0526; Speed2Treat.com) now offers its Speed2Treat home healing kit for head, neck and jaw injuries. Developed by orofacial pain experts, the kit is intended to help minimize patient discomfort, reduce dysfunction, and help prevent musculoskeletal injuries from progressing to chronic diseases. The Speed2Treat kit can be offered to patients after they have been assessed, and the four-week plan can be implemented via telehealth technology to prevent unnecessary in-person visits during the COVID-19 pandemic. The kit includes a temporary overnight oral appliance, hot/cold therapy packs, patient self-care instructions, and online resources — including pain education, prescribed exercises, breath training, and calming virtual-reality experiences.

The new platform can collect data, share information, and streamline standard‐of‐care processes. The Aeras compressor is equipped with cloud‐based technology that offers active monitoring of data streaming from embedded sensors, and all information can be accessed via web browser on any device. Clinicians can also remotely schedule when the equipment powers on and off. The Aeras compressor provides clean, dry, oil‐free air, and its Dual Desiccant Dryer Technology prevents bacterial growth. A rocking piston design ensures quiet operation, while a high‐pressure option is available for practices that require extra power.
Intraoral X-Ray Sensor Joins Lineup![]()
KaVo Imaging (888-ASK-KAVO; kavo.com/en-us) has added the KaVo IXS to its sensor portfolio. The IXS intraoral X-ray sensor features KaVo Tough engineering in both the sensor and cable to enhance resistance to damage or functional failure. These new sensors are described as being able to withstand double the bite force of traditional sensors without cosmetic damage; in addition, the cable can withstand more than 240,000 bend cycles without functional failure. KaVo IXS sensors have open architecture software capabilities and can be integrated into most popular imaging and practice management software without the need for a bridge or additional modules.
