DESENSITIZING GEL PENETRATES DEEP INTO DENTINAL TUBULESDESENSITIZING GEL PENETRATES DEEP INTO DENTINAL TUBULES

DenMat (800-433-6628; denmat.com) announces the launch of ZEN CP+, a desensitizing gel that alleviates tooth sensitivity and discomfort by delivering nano-sized calcium phosphate minerals to the tooth surface, occluding and penetrating deep inside the dentinal tubules, where they are unaffected by wear and acid. Developed with CAPOSAL microsphere technology, ZEN CP+ reacts with saliva to promote rapid mineralization. And because this desensitizing gel does not contain any milk-derived proteins, it is safe for all patients — including those with milk-based allergies. Offered in 45-gram tubes, ZEN CP+ will be available to oral health professionals via dental dealers and to consumers through dental offices.

QuietOn (+358 (0) 465577589; quietondental.com) has announced a new solution for oral health professionals seeking to protect their hearing. QuietOn’s active noise canceling (ANC) earbuds are tuned by hand to cancel out low frequencies. The built-in microphone samples the sound, while a speaker generates opposite-phased sound waves that cancel out harmful noises. Developed for dental teams, ANC earbuds reduce low- and high-frequency noises, while simultaneously allowing for easy discussion with patients. The ANC earbuds are certified hearing protector devices (EN352) that provide 50 hours of battery life on a single charge.

SELF-ADHESIVE FLOWABLE COMPOSITE OFFEREDSELF-ADHESIVE FLOWABLE COMPOSITE OFFERED

Shofu (800-827-4638; shofu.com) offers the bioactive self-adhesive flowable composite, FIT SA. Its bioactive Giomer technology gives FIT SA the ability to release and recharge six beneficial ions (fluoride, strontium, sodium, aluminum, silicate and borate) for the life of the restoration. According to Shofu, these ions inhibit plaque, neutralize acid, and eliminate secondary decay. FIT SA is indicated for use as a liner, small Class I, Class III, Class V, and other non-load-bearing restorations. This bioactive self-adhesive flowable composite offers superior strength and polishability. In addition, its unique filler structure combines the light transmission and diffusion properties of dentin and enamel to blend seamlessly with surrounding dentition.

The TRIOS 3 Basic digital scanner from 3Shape (908-867-0144; https://utm.io/uc6jj) is ideal for dental professionals looking for a flexible option for transitioning into digital dentistry, or as an additional device to supplement their existing digital workflow. This intraoral scanner’s “scan and send” feature makes it easy to send production-ready scans to colleagues or laboratories. Utilizing the same core technology found in all TRIOS models, the TRIOS 3 Basic comes with AI Scan, Real Colors and shade measurement, but does not include some of the apps found on the company’s higher-end units (although upgrades are available). This device features a lightweight handle, ultrafast scanning and documented accuracy for indications ranging from implant scanning to orthodontics.

TEMPORARY CEMENT DEBUTSTEMPORARY CEMENT DEBUTS

VOCO America (888-658-2584; vocoamerica.com) has introduced Provicol QM Aesthetic, a transparent, non-eugenol temporary cement that secures provisional crowns and bridges without affecting the overlying color of the restoration. Provicol QM Aesthetic’s zinc oxide-based formula provides antibacterial properties; it also offers excellent adhesion and strength, as well as a semielastic consistency that allows for easy cleanup. Its innovative glass matrix with polyhedral particles is said to provide translucency only achieved by resin-based cements, which results in esthetic shade matching with the provisional restoration. This material is highly radiopaque and contains calcium hydroxide, which promotes the development of tertiary dentin and helps prevent hypersensitivity. The cement’s low film thickness (7 µm) is said to promote retention and enhance fit.
