Dental Assistant Makes TikTok Video Comparing Dental Job to Waitressing

Joi Cymone, a social media influencer, took to TikTok to share that what she earns working 1 week as a waitress is double the amount she makes in 2 weeks working full-time as a dental assistant. She is employed during the week at an orthodontic practice and waits tables on the weekends and evenings. According to a survey of dentists conducted by the American Dental Association, four out of 10 practices were currently looking to hire dental assistants. In addition, the nationwide shortage of both dental assistants and dental hygienists has resulted in an 11% decrease in dental practice productivity.
