WalletHub Names Best and Worst States for Oral Health
WalletHub, a website that offers financial advice, compared 50 states and the District of Columbia on 26 parameters measuring dental care and oral health. It then divided its data into two scores:
- Dental habits and care
- Oral health
Data points that contributed to the “dental habits and care” category included share of adolescents who visited a dentist in the past year and dental treatment costs. Measurements that were evaluated in the “oral health” assessment included share of older adults who are edentulous and reduced quality of life due to oral health status.
In the dental habits and care category, Wisconsin took first prize and Louisiana came in last. Regarding oral health, Illinois took the top honors and West Virginia was 51. Click here to read more.
