New Program Hopes to Bring More Pediatric Dentists to SW Virginia
Carilion Clinic, a nonprofit healthcare provider in Roanoke, Virginia, sees 10,000 children each year in its dental clinic and struggles to keep up with demand. In addition to Southwest Virginia, children travel from neighboring West Virginia and North Carolina to receive pediatric dental care due to the lack of providers. Carilion Clinic is hoping to alleviate this problem with the addition of two resident dentists who will each see approximately 3,500 patients per year. The new residency program is made possible through the gift of a $2 million endowment from Delta Dental of Virgnia. Click here to read more.
