0

According to a review conducted by researchers at the New York University School of Global Public Health, Americans covered by employer-sponsored health insurance plans report difficulty in affording healthcare services. This trend was most prevalent among women. In a survey of 238,000 participants, 3.9% of women and 2.7% of men cited medical care as unaffordable, 8.1% of women and 5.4% of men noted dental care was unaffordable, 5.2% of women and 2.7% of men stated prescription medications were unaffordable, and 2.1% of women and 0.8% of men said mental health services were unaffordable. More than 60% of American adults receive health insurance coverage through their employers. Both men and women reported the inability to afford dental services as the highest of all services for the duration of the study—from 2000 through 2020. Click here to read more.
