Need Something to Worry About? Tomato Flu Has You Covered
While most of the world is still reeling from the havoc caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, other public health challenges have emerged such as monkeypox and now tomato flu. This viral disease has quickly spread among children in India since it first emerged in May. Tomato flu causes high fever, rashes, and joint pain, but is not thought to be fatal. The resultant rash includes large red blisters, hence the moniker “tomato flu.” It is thought to be transmitted via surfaces and touch and it may be a member of the hand foot and mouth disease family.
