CDC Eliminates the Quarantine-at-Home Guideline for Those Exposed to COVID-19
On August 11, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that it no longer recommends individuals quarantine at home following exposure to the novel coronavirus, regardless of vaccination status. As COVID-19 has become ubiquitous across the US, stringent guidelines implemented to stop its spread—such as social distancing and mask wearing—are being eased. Many Americans have some level of immunity due to prior infection or immunization, and several effective treatments are currently available for those at increased risk for severe illness.
