Vaccine and Infection Provide Immunity Boost, Regardless of Which Comes First

A new study found that whether you are infected with COVID-19 first and then get vaccinated or you experience a breakthrough infection post-vaccination, the results are the same: a big boost of immunity. Published in Science Immunology, the study reported that the level of immunity provided after infection and vaccination, regardless of order, was highly uniform. This is not the case when immunity is gained through infection alone. This type of natural immunity is highly variable among individuals, with some receiving high levels of immunity while others get a small and short-lived level of protection. Click here to read more.
