N95 Masks Can Be Reused, Length of Wear Determines Effectiveness

With the highly transmissible Omicron now the dominant variant of COVID-19 and data showing that cloth masks are not very effective, demand for high-quality N95 masks has grown. The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) asserts that healthcare professionals can re-wear an N95 mask up to five times. For N95 masks used in day-to-day life, experts suggest that how long an N95 is worn is the most significant determinant of when it should be retired, with an expected lifespan of nor more than 2 days to 3 days.
