CDA Advises Dental Practices on Notification Protocol for COVID-19 Exposure

0

The California Dental Association (CDA) released some simple tips for dental practices that are unsure of when to notify patients of a COVID-19 exposure in the office. The organization suggests a patient be notified if he or she was within 6 feet of a staff member with COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes unless the infected individual was wearing an N95 or other respirator. All patients who had this level of exposure within 2 days of the staff member testing positive should be contacted. The practice’s local public health department or workers’ compensation agency may also need to be notified. To learn more about best practices for notification, click here.
