Presence of Gene Increases Risk of Severe COVID-19 Illness
One of the most significant unanswered questions of the global pandemic is why some people experience mild symptoms while others become seriously ill and even die. The answer may be in our genes. Researchers from the United Kingdom have found the presence of a particular gene doubles the risk for severe lung illness caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection.
