Will Telehealth Be the Answer to Rising Pandemic-Related Mental Health Issues?
According to a study in The Lancet, COVID-19 brought more than viral illness, lockdowns, and business disruptions, it also led to an increase in mental health problems. Researchers reported 76 million more cases of anxiety disorders and 53 million additiona cases of depression since the pandemic began. Women and young people bore the brunt of this trend. Companies offering mental health services via telehealth believe these aps and virtual appointments are the way of the future, as more people have become accustomed to doing all types of things at home.
