FDA Grants Full Approval to Pfizer’s COVID-19 Vaccine

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine full approval on August 23. The vaccine has been administered under the agency’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) since December 2020. The lack of full approval from the FDA has been cited as a cause of vaccine hesitancy among many Americans. The approval will also pave the way for more vaccine mandates among employers, educational institutions, and military branches.
