COVID-19 Death Rate Drops, Most Deaths Among Those Unvaccinated
The United States now has fewer than 300 deaths per day due to COVID-19—a drastic decline from a high of more than 5,000 per day in February 2021. Today, almost all COVID-19 deaths are among individuals who have not been vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2, demonstrating the remarkable efficacy of these immunizations. According to an AP analysis of US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data, of the 18,000 deaths due to COVID-19 during the month of May, only 150 were in vaccinated Americans.
