COVID-19 Health Precautions Linked to Uptick in Hostile Airline Passengers
The skies are not as friendly these days with growing numbers of unruly airline passengers who refuse to wear masks, as is currently required on commercial airline flights. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported 1,300 complaints of out-of-control airline passengers since February 2021. Prior to the pandemic, the FAA took action against 1,300 unruly passengers over a 10-year period. The penalties for belligerent behavior are steep, ranging in fines from $9,000 to $32,000.
