It’s Get Smart About Antibiotics Week
Dental professionals are invited to participate in Get Smart About Antibiotics Week, Nov. 14-20. This annual observance is intended to engage health care providers to improve antibiotic stewardship in outpatient, inpatient and nursing home settings.
During this week, participants will raise awareness of the threat of antibiotic resistance and emphasize the importance of appropriate antibiotic use. Get Smart About Antibiotics Week coincides with the World Health Organization’s World Antibiotic Awareness Week and European Antibiotic Awareness Day (Nov. 18). Participating countries and international organizations include the United States, the European Union, Australia, Canada and the Pan American Health Organization.
