Shane Parish is a self-taught guitarist and composer from Athens, Georgia, who has been working professionally since the early 2000s. Releasing albums and performing in different bands, including Ahleuchatistas and the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet, Parish travels all over the world to perform live.

In September, he was set to play at the Making Time festival in Philadelphia when he noticed severe swelling in his face. He visited a local urgent care which enabled him to take the stage later that afternoon. But upon returning home, he visited his local dental practice and ended up with a bill of more than $5,000.

Without dental insurance, Parish decided to write a new album in order to cover the costs of his dental care. And the name of said album? “Dental Work.” On the album, he plays electric guitar with a loop pedal and incorporates a variety of volume knob tricks.
