Celebrate World Oral Health Day
Recognizing that a great smile is more than just attractive, it’s also a sign of good oral health, please join Decisions in Dentistry in celebrating March 20 as World Oral Health Day. Held annually, World Oral Health Day is an international effort designed to raise global awareness of the benefits of oral health and promote the importance of oral hygiene.
According to the World Dental Federation, the chief organization behind World Oral Health Day, 90% of the world’s population will suffer from oral diseases in their lifetime, but many of these problems can be avoided with increased governmental, health association and society support for prevention, detection and treatment programs. World Oral Health Day offers dental professionals a platform to take action and help reduce the burden of disease.
As part of efforts to help the global community better understand the link between oral and systemic health, this year’s theme is: It all starts here. Healthy mouth. Healthy body.
Everybody can take part in this initiative: clinicians, member organizations, specialist groups, health associations, government agencies, teachers, students and the public at large. To learn more, visit worldoralhealthday.com.
