Michael W. Roberts, DDS, MScD, is a Henson Distinguished Professor in the Division of Pediatric and Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry. He has published more than 125 papers in professional journals and contributed to several dental text and reference books. Roberts' research interests include oral effects and management of eating disorders and the use of lasers in dentistry. He is a member of Dimensions of Dental Hygiene's Peer Review Panel. Sara G. Grossi, DDS, MS, is a periodontist who has been the principal investigator in multiple landmark studies on periodontal disease risk factors, and the relationship between periodontal disease and general health. An independent researcher and consultant, she lectures at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina.

Pramod Tadakamalla, BDS, MS, completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in India and Master’s Degree in Public Health at Western Kentucky University. He is currently working on a DDS degree at The University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.

Joseph W. Evans, DDS, a graduate of Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tennessee, is an associate professor of dental hygiene at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. He has worked in private practice and public health, and his research interests include forensic dentistry, sports dentistry, dental radiology and abnormalities of the developing dentition.

Maritza Mendez, DMD, is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Dental Practice at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. She is the attending dentist and course director of dental anatomy in the university’s dental hygiene program, and also course director for medical and dental emergencies in the dental office.
