Joel H. Berg, DDS, MS, is professor emeritus of pediatric dentistry at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle. President of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and a former president of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, he is coeditor of the textbook Early Childhood Oral Health. Sally M. Mauriello, RDH, EdD, is a professor in the Department of Dental Ecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. She has received several awards for teaching excellence and has presented at professional meetings at the state, national and international levels. Teresa A. Marshall, PhD, RDN/LDN, is a professor in the Department of Community and Preventive Dentistry at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City. A registered, licensed dietitian, she teaches nutrition curriculum to dental students and studies the dietary relationships between caries, erosion and systemic health. Marshall serves as a research editor for the Association of Nutrition and Dietetics, and is a member of the International Association of Dental Research and American Dental Education Association. Amy S. Kim, DDS, is a clinical associate professor at UW’s School of Dentistry and assistant director of clinical research at UW’s Center for Pediatric Dentistry. She has worked in private practice and in the SMILE Program, which provides in-school dental care. Experienced in dental academia with a focus on admissions and interprofessional education, Kim’s research interests include project/program management, regulatory affairs and human subjects protection.
Elise Sarvas, DDS, MSD, MPH, is a board-certified pediatric dentist and clinical assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at the UMN School of Dentistry.
Kathy J. Eklund, RDH, MHP, is the director of occupational health and safety at the Forsyth Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the Dental Hygiene Program at Regis College, School of Health Sciences in Weston, Massachusetts.
