Donita Dyalram, DDS, MD, FACS, is an assistant professor and associate program director of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She is also one of the core faculty in the Head and Neck Oncology/ Microvascular Reconstruction fellowship training program, as well as a course director and faculty adviser. Dyalram was recognized with the Faculty Educator Development Award by the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Foundation, and is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Sheryl L. Syme, RDH, MS, is an associate professor, director of the Bachelor of Science Degree Completion Program, and director of curriculum management in the Division of Dental Hygiene of the Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Periodontology at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. She is also the education director for the Mid-Atlantic PANDA (Prevent Abuse and Neglect through Dental Awareness) Coalition and coauthor of the Abuse and Neglect chapter in Darby’s and Walsh’s Dental Hygiene Theory and Practice, 4th edition. Ira T. Bloom, DDS, is the assistant director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore. He has lectured on CAD/CAM and esthetic dentistry, and recently coauthored a chapter on digital impressions in the textbook Clinical Applications of Digital Dental Technology. Previously, Bloom was in private practice for 35 years, focusing on esthetic, CAD/CAM and restorative dentistry.
Sharon L. Varlotta, RDH, MS, is a clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, where she shares her appointment at the school in the Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics and Periodontics, and the Department of Oncology and Diagnostic Sciences. Ryan L. Quock, DDS, is a distinguished teaching professor and vice chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry. Quock serves nationally with the American Dental Education Association and the CAMBRA Coalition.
Harlan J. Shiau, DDS, DMSc, is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Advanced Oral Sciences and Therapeutics, Division of Periodontics, at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he directs the postgraduate periodontics program. Shiau is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Nadim Z. Baba, DMD, MSD, FACP, is a professor and director of the Hugh Love Center for Research and Education in Technology at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Loma Linda, California. He also maintains a part-time private practice in Glendale, California, and is vice president of the American College of Prosthodontists. A diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Baba is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and the Academy of Prosthodontics. He is also the associate editor of the Aesthetics/ Prosthetics/ Restorative section of the Journal of Dental Traumatology. An international lecturer and author, Baba recently published the textbook, Restoration of Endodontically Treated Teeth: Evidence-Based Diagnosis and Treatment Planning.
