Shawneen M. Gonzalez, DDS, MS, is an assistant professor and director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Clinic at Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Dentistry in Portland. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, and the creator of drgstoothpix.com, a website designed to help educate dental professionals about oral radiology.
Mark A. Weiskircher, DMD, Col, USAF, DC, is the chief of the Clinical Dentistry Division in the Dental Directorate at the Air Force Medical Operations Agency in San Antonio. Jessica De Bord, DDS, MSD, MA, is the associate program director of the New York University Lutheran Pediatric Dental Residency in Yakima, Washington. She also practices and teaches at Children's Village, an interdisciplinary clinic for children with special needs in Yakima. De Bord is a clinical director for Special Smiles, the oral health component of Special Olympics; an affiliate assistant professor at the University of Washington; chair of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Committee on Special Needs; and a board member of the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry.
Travis Nelson, DDS, MSD, MPH, is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Washington in Seattle and an attending dentist at Seattle Children's Hospital. He has authored numerous articles and has lectured nationally and internationally on a variety of topics. His research interests include providing dental care to children with autism, procedural sedation, and educating medical providers on the importance of pediatric oral health. Susan Taichman, RDH, MPH, PhD, is an assistant professor and research scientist in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor. Her main research focus is women's oral health. Taichman conducts clinical studies examining the impact of antiestrogen therapy on periodontal health and oral health-related quality of life among post-menopausal breast cancer survivors.
