Carrie Peltier, MS, MPH, is quality improvement project manager
at the DentaQuest Institute, where she manages national quality improvement initiatives focused on caries management. With a passion for disease prevention, she has managed projects involving
obesity prevention and advocacy, oral health, and the benefits of breastfeeding.
Brian B. Nový, DDS, is president of the DentaQuest Oral Health
Center and director of practice improvement at the DentaQuest Institute. A fellow of the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and Academy of Dentistry International, he served on the American Dental Association (ADA) Council of Scientific Affairs from 2010 to 2014, and as chair of the CAMBRA Coalition through 2015. In 2009, the ADA recognized Nový’s office as the Adult Preventive Care Practice of the Year.
Shellie Kolavic Gray, DMD, MPH, is an Atlanta-based public health and infection control consultant. She is a former epidemic intelligence service officer with U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and

Felipe B. Porto, DDS, MS, received his dental degree and a degree as a specialist in orthodontics and facial orthopedics from the University of Pernambuco in Brazil. He became certified in orofacial pain and received his Masters of Science degree from the University of Kentucky. A diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain, he is a second-year resident in orthodontics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He can be reached at portof@musc.edu.
Jade Miller, DDS, is president of the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry (AAPD). In addition to his service to multiple dental organizations, he has held appointments with the Medicaid Medical Advisory Committee, Nevada State Board of Health and Nevada Board of Dental Examiners. Miller is an associate faculty member at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, and the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle. A graduate of AAPD’s Leadership Institute and Advanced Leadership Institute, he is a member of American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and the Academy of Dentistry International.
