Felipe B. Porto, DDS, MS, received his dental degree and a degree as a specialist in orthodontics and facial orthopedics from the University of Pernambuco in Brazil. He became certified in orofacial pain and received his Masters of Science degree from the University of Kentucky. Jade Miller, DDS, is president of the American Academy of Pediatric
Dentistry (AAPD). In addition to his service to multiple dental organizations, he has held appointments with the Medicaid Medical Advisory Committee, Nevada State Board of Health and Nevada Board of Dental Examiners. Miller is an associate faculty member at University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, and the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle. A graduate of AAPD’s Leadership Institute and Advanced Leadership Institute, he is a member of American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and the Academy of Dentistry International. Sarah Fabozzi Winter, DMD, maintains a general dental practice in La Jolla, California. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and several dental study clubs.

Mehdi Garashi, DDS, MS, practices periodontics and
implant surgery for the Ministry of Health in Kuwait. He is a
diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Donita Dyalram, DDS, MD, FACS, is an assistant professor and associate program director of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency training program at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She is also one of the core faculty in the Head and Neck Oncology/ Microvascular Reconstruction fellowship training program, as well as a course director and faculty adviser. Dyalram was recognized with the Faculty Educator Development Award by the

Sheryl L. Syme, RDH, MS, is an associate professor, director of the Bachelor of Science Degree Completion Program, and director of curriculum management in the Division of Dental Hygiene of the Department of Endodontics, Prosthodontics, and Periodontology at the University

She is also the education director for the Mid-Atlantic PANDA (Prevent Abuse and Neglect through Dental Awareness) Coalition and coauthor of the Abuse and Neglect chapter in Darby’s and Walsh’s Dental Hygiene Theory and Practice, 4th edition.
