Dorothy J. Rowe, RDH, MS, PhD, is an associate professor emeritus in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, where she teaches courses on the biological basis of caries risk assessment, research methodology, and the relationship between oral and systemic diseases. George Bogen, DDS, maintains an endodontic practice in Los Angeles and lectures for the postgraduate departments at the University of California, Los Angeles, Loma Linda University, and the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Long Beach, California. A past president of the Southern California Academy of Endodontics, Bogen is also a former secretary and trustee of the American Association of Endodontists Foundation. An international lecturer and author, he serves on the scientific advisory boards for the Journal of Endodontics and International Endodontic Journal, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. EVE J. CUNY, BA, MS, is an associate professor in the Department of Dental Practice and director of Environmental Health and Safety at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Cuny has presented more than 200 continuing education courses throughout North America, contributed to textbooks, conducted dental infection control research, and published articles about infection control and safety in dentistry. Sumitha N. Ahmed, RDH, BDS, MS, is a clinical assistant professor, director of preclinical operative dentistry, and codirector of the educational research group in the Department of Operative Dentistry at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.
