OCTOdent (octodent.com), an Arkansas-based company specializing in dental evacuation equipment, has partnered with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry (UTHSC) in Memphis to provide dental students, patients and educators with its Extraoral Aerosol Scavenger.

The school recently purchased 100 units of OCTOdent’s mobile, standalone, extraoral aerosol scavenger that filters viruses, bacteria and toxic vapors away from the immediate area of the dentist, dental assistant and patient. The technology captures potentially harmful aerosols at the source and cleans the air with a six-stage filtration system. “We stand with UTHSC as they execute the highest standards in safety and education for the next generation of dentists and dental hygienists,” notes OCTOdent founder Chad Jensen, DMD.
