National Campaign Launched to Reduce Dental Opioid Misuse

The Medicaid|Medicare|CHIP Services Dental Association, a nonprofit that advocates for quality oral health care for Medicaid, Medicare and Children’s Health Insurance Program beneficiaries, has launched a campaign aimed at reducing opioid use for postsurgical dental pain management.

The Medicaid|Medicare|CHIP Services Dental Association, a nonprofit that advocates for quality oral health care for Medicaid, Medicare and Children’s Health Insurance Program beneficiaries, has launched a campaign aimed at reducing opioid use for postsurgical dental pain management. In addition to providers, the effort will target state Medicaid agencies, health plans and educators to inform stakeholders about opioid alternatives, as well as the risks associated with overprescribing opioids. The association is seeking partnerships across various sectors to identify solutions to the current opioid epidemic.
