ENHANCED DENTIN RESTORATIVE SYSTEM ANNOUNCED

Since its launch 10 years ago, Biodentine, based on Septodont’s (800-872-8305; septodontusa.com) innovative Active Biosilicate Technology platform, has successfully helped replace dentin in both the crown and root. Due to its unique features, Biodentine has become a go-to material for preserving tooth structure, as it offers high bioactivity with complete dentin bridge formation and outstanding sealing. Its clinical benefits promote vital pulp therapy and help save teeth from root canal treatment and possible extraction. Septodont has now introduced an enhanced version with nine indications. The upgraded Biodentine XP system ensures a consistent mix thanks to its proprietary mixer and easy delivery directly into the tooth with the applicator gun. The all-in-one cartridges are available in two formats (XP 200 and XP 500), depending on the procedure and volume of material needed. The Biodentine XP Starter Pack contains the mixer, applicator gun, and packages of XP 200 and XP 500 cartridges. Boxes of 10 refill cartridges are also available.

DENTAL 3D PRINTING MADE EASY

Formlabs (617-702-8476; formlabs.com) is expanding access to digital fabrication with its wide selection of three-dimensional (3D) printers, 3D materials and accompanying software. Formlabs Dental comprises a team of dental professionals dedicated to providing the 3D printing solutions that meet the needs of practices of all sizes. Dental users have printed 13 million parts on the Form 3B+ and Form 3BL. In addition to hardware, Formlabs offers a robust selection of dental materials, such as Permanent Crown Resin, Temporary CB Resin and Custom Tray Resin. Formlabs also offers its helpful Scan to Model tool. The Formlabs PreForm software feature is designed to easily convert intraoral scans into 3D printable models. Dental and orthodontic professionals can use Scan to Model to increase digital workflow efficiency — even without having prior experience with digital design software.

TEMPORARY DENTAL CEMENT ANNOUNCED

UltraTemp REZ II from Ultradent (800-552-5512; ultradent.com) is a new temporary dental cement for provisional crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays and small direct restorations. The new cement features hydrophilic, resin-based chemistry that helps ensure low irritation and optimal sealing. It was developed for longer retention needs (two to four weeks), and comes in a dual-barrel syringe with mixing tips that provides an even mix for reliable results. The cement features a non-eugenol formula that will not interfere with resin bonding. With its convenient delivery system, UltraTemp REZ II saves chairtime and, when needed, is quickly removed. Designed to fluoresce under a black light for easy identification, the radiopaque material is available in fast-set and regular-set versions. ­

MICRO APPLICATOR BRUSHES DEBUT

Perfect Touch micro applicator brushes from Dental Creations Ltd. (254-772-4661; dentalcreationsltd.com) are used for placing etchants, sealants and bonding agents. Perfect Touch brushes are bendable in any direction to allow precise application in hard-to-reach areas. The fibers hold solutions, so there is no spilling, dripping or waste. Featuring a lint-free brush tip, the applicators are disposable and intended for single-use only, which eliminates cross-contamination risks. These new color-coded micro brushes are available in fine, regular and large sizes.
