Grant Funds Address the Oral Health of Patients With Disabilities

CareQuest Institute for Oral Health has allocated $1.25 million in funding to 10 organizations to address systemic barriers to oral health for people with disabilities. The recipients are the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Foundation, Alameda Health System Foundation, New Mexico Dental Association Foundation, American Institute of Dental Public Health, Arc of the United States, University of California Los Angeles School of Dentistry, University of Cincinnati Foundation, University of Colorado Denver, University of Florida Foundation, and University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Each will receive $125,000. The funded projects vary widely, from the development of mobile applications for communication-impaired patients to the creation of dental programs tailored to individuals with disabilities.
