A dental hygienist known on TikTok as @jessica_marierdhap created a video to help those who visit nail salons ensure the instruments used are sterilized. She shows a package of instruments within a plastic pouch as is typically seen in nail salons. However, Jessica points out that the circle in the right-hand corner is red, signifying the instruments are dirty. She explains that a black dot in the same corner means the instruments have been sterilized. Exposure to dirty nail instruments may result in fungal, bacterial, or viral infections.
