Dental Assistant Arrested After Forging Opioid Prescriptions

A dentist in Leesburg, Florida, was reviewing the prescriptions ordered from the previous day when she noted a request for the opioids Percocet, which contains oxycodone, and Norco, which contains hydrocodone; neither of which had been prescribed by the dentist. She contacted the authorities, and it was discovered that the practice’s dental assistant had forged the dentist’s electronic signature to prescribe the medications to herself.
