
New Guidelines on Treating Dental Caries Are Released
The American Dental Association published updated guidance on addressing dental caries in the latest issue of its journal. Developed by a panel of expert dentists, the new guidelines suggest that conservative carious tissue removal is effective and results in the fewest complications. In addition, the document emphasizes the effectiveness of traditional restorative materials such as tooth-colored and silver fillings and preformed caps.
