Grant Aims to Improve Equity in Dental Care for Minnesota’s Marginalized Populations
In Minnesota, 40% of the state’s 3,000 dentists do not accept Medicaid, severely limiting access to dental care for low-income patients. In an effort to expand access to care among Minnesotans of low socioeconomic status, of ethnic and racial minorities, and those who live in rural areas, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota is giving $100,000 to Apple Tree Dental and Ready, Set, Smile for their outreach efforts to low-income and uninsured families living in the Twin Cities Metro area. Preventive care and patient education will be provided at 33 school-based dental clinics. Click here to read more.
