California Dental Association Works to Solve Dental Assistant Shortage

Dental practices across California have struggled to fill employment openings since the COVID-19 pandemic, with dental assistants proving to be some of the most difficult hires to make. As such, the California Dental Association (CDA) created a new training program to help get more dental assistants into the workforce as soon as possible. CDA’s Dental Assistant Training curriculum has been successful in increasing the number of dental assistants working in the state. Local dental societies and community college programs have added the training to their offerings and seen a rise in dental assistants entering the workforce from Northern to Southern California.
