Michigan Invests More Than $85 Million in Dental Services for Adults Covered by Medicaid
The state of Michigan has expanded dental benefits for adults covered by Medicaid as well as increased reimbursement for participating dental providers. The $85.1 million will help those ages 21 and older receive preventive and restorative dental treatments including scaling and root planing, sealant application, endodontics, dental restorations, and periodontal therapy. The state will also raise reimbursement rates for dental professionals to 100% of the average commercial rate, which will hopefully increase the number of providers who accept patients covered by Medicaid. These changes went into effect on April 1. Click here to read more.
