Northern Michigan Reacts to Dental Assistant Shortage

0

Dental practices across the United States are feeling the pinch of the oral health professional labor shortage. Northern Michigan is addressing this issue by creating an abbreviated but intense program to get new dental assistants into the workforce. This area of Michigan is without a dental hygiene educational program, which has exacerbated the impact of the labor shortage. Thus, North Central Michigan College in Gaylord will begin offering a 9-week course of study to train new dental assistants. The program will be taught by Rico Breznau, MA, RDH, RDA, CDA. The first class will begin in April and is already full. Interested students can apply to the next cohort, which begins in September. Click here to read more.
