Popular Morning Show Visits University of Tennessee Dental School
Good Morning America, a popular morning television program, visited the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Dentistry to highlight the school’s “Determined to Be a Doctor Someday (DDS)” program. Begun by Christina Rosenthal, DDS, MPH, an alumna of UTHSC’s College of Dentistry, in 2012, the DDS program encourages adolescents from marginalized, rural, and low-income backgrounds to enter healthcare professions. One of the DDS program’s former participants Quodarrius Toney, DDS, a cosmetic dentist and founder of a toothbrush company, presented a check for $8,000 in support of the program during the live segment.
