Illinois Introduces Dental Insurance Accountability Legislation
In November 2022, Massachusetts passed a law requiring dental insurers to spend 83% of patient premiums on actual dental care, as opposed to business and marketing expenses. Illinois is poised to follow suit. The state’s “More for Your Smile” bill will require dental insurance companies to spend at least 80% of premiums on patient care. The Illinois State Dental Society is encouraging consumers to let their representatives know they support such legislation. Click here to read more.
