Therapy Dog Sports a Beautiful and Healthy Smile

Scarlett, a working therapy dog in the Upper West Side of New York City, is always ready for her next gig with a beautiful smile and no “doggy breath,” thanks to her owner who is a dentist. The 2.5-year-old mix of poodle, Doberman Pinscher, and bloodhound breeds undergoes a rigorous daily oral hygiene regimen that includes brushing with a power toothbrush. The results are clear, Scarlett boasts a white and bright smile with very healthy gingiva. Scarlett is a member of New York Therapy Animals, an organization composed of volunteer therapy dogs and their handlers that visit hospitals, schools, libraries, long-term care facilities, and shelters to reduce stress and bring joy.
