Will the US See a COVID-19 Resurgence This Fall?
The United States has seen declining numbers of COVID-19 after reaching a plateau over the summer. Unfortunately, this decrease may not be here to stay. As the weather grows colder and Americans spend more time inside, the risk for COVID-19 transmission increases. Some projection models suggest we won’t see any steep increases through December of this year; however, other researchers suggest that the circulation of subvariants to the novel coronavirus could cause a surge in US cases.
