
Egyptian Study Demonstrates Relationship Between Oral Health and Pandemic Fears
Published in the journal Nature, a new study of more than 370 Egyptian adults found interesting correlations between how individuals felt about COVID-19 and their level of oral health. Those who reported the highest levels of fear regarding infection with the novel coronavirus demonstrated the lowest scores in plaque and gingival indices. Those who expressed having high anxiety regarding the economic impact of the global pandemic exhibited the highest rates of xerostomia.
