Older Adults Regret Not Taking Care of Their Oral Health, Survey Shows
In a survey of more than 1,000 Americans aged 50 and older, most expressed regret that they had not taken better care of their oral health. Commissioned by Delta Dental, the survey found that 72% wished they had taken better care of their oral health when they were younger, 41% wished they had visited the dentist more frequently, 38% noted they should have flossed more, and 31% said they regret not being better about toothbrushing. The survey also showed that neglect of oral health among older adults continues, with 80% of participants noting they are not receiving professional oral healthcare at the recommended intervals.
