Many Americans Struggle With Medical and Dental Debt
A poll conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation shows that four out of 10 Americans struggle with debt incurred due to medical and dental care costs. Out of the survey participants, 24% reported they had overdue medical/dental care bills; 21% are currently paying off debt incrementally directly to the provider. Forty percent of those respondents between the ages of 18 and 29 reported carrying medical/dental debt in comparison to 22% of those age 65 and older. The survey was conducted February through March.
